HAPPY HALLOWEEN YALL or Dia de Muertos i should say. Here in the city, its crazyyyyyy make up skeleton all that stuff.
PONDERIZING SCRIPTURES: FINISHED OLD TESTAMENT AND D&C. so yeah that was cool. Micah 3, Malachi 2:10, Matthew 5:46-48, Matthew 6:26,30 (these are just my favorites I had way to many this week.
TUESDAY: Found Maribel and did a practice interview with her WHICH she passed perfectly and wants to get baptized really soon! Working hard with her. Also finally won the confidence of Tania´s family who has accepted to put behind their doubts and hurt from members and accept to help Tania find the gospel and follow Christ. SHES GETTING BAPTIZED END OF NOVEMBER.
WEDNESDAY: A day FULL of just finding people to teach. Many news that the Lord is preparing for us to teach. And all are very potential to progress in this time. Please pray for Nayeli, Veronica, Griselda, Antonio, Josefina who has lung cancer that doesnt look that good. Ended the day finally finding an inactive member who dropped the church after her husband killed himself and we shared Joseph Smiths revelation from the Lord in jail ¨My son, peace be unto thy soul, thine afflictions shall be for a small moment¨ and we all just cried and cried and she and all her family came to church on Sunday. Amazing miracle
THURSDAY: Had one of the most touching member meetings just playing piano for the family while they prepared the food and the spirit was SO strong and the family said they were able to remember just the simple primary truths they learned and completely won our trust! Read the Book of Mormon with the Bautista family again and the parents are now reading with us. PROGRESS. We lost our investigator Neli ... she is getting baptized in the Christian church... sad. Ended the day finding our future missionary who leaves in two weeks who is SO nervous and doesnt know the doctrine... so weve been doing practices with him with all the lessons every day preparing him for the field. PUMPED
FRIDAY: we woke up at 4:45 to be able to have a meeting with bishop and all the ward council planning our mission plan for the ward. AND even though everyone looked half dead and we had our pijamas below our skirts, SUPER huge success. Ward really changing. Ended the day finding a new investigator who is angry with the Catholic church and wants to change religion because she feels shes not in the right church... mostly because she literally fell in front of catholic church and broke her leg... well its one way to send a sign from the Lord.
SATURDAY: Creepy scary life-flashing day. Got followed by a college student that was on drugs begging us to baptize him... but lucky for that trial while we were running away from him, witnessed a girl on a bike get hit by a car and almost died but we ran to her side to get her out of the way before someone else hit her and she began to cry on the sidewalk saying it was a sign from the Lord that she had dreamed she would find help with her life... and with it almost being taken away, she fell literally into our arms.... the bad part... she lives in the North mission. OH well same work.
SUNDAY: BEST sunday ever. New bishopric counselors and the stake president PLANCHED the ward on working in our callings and to RESURRECT the ward. It was absolutely PERFECT for what we had planned in the for the third hour where we taught ALL the members on how to work with the calling they have had since they were baptized. And an idea I´ve had for a while was to take the mission call letter and change it to a be towards a member. The spirit was INCREDIBLE and everyone had tears in their eyes and every member now has this treasure of a ¨mission call¨ to the ward.
It goes something like this:
My Dear Child,
You are hereby called to serve as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Universidad ward. It is anticipated that you will serve for all of your life.
You should report to the Sacrament punctually every Sunday. You will prepare to preach the gospel within your family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances. Your assignment may be modified according to the needs of your bishop.
Sincerely,
Your Heavenly Father.
We made it look COMPLETELY legit and all at first thought it was just a copy of a mission call but once the people heard the difference. PURE silence and PURE spirit. AMAZING
I am so grateful for this mission and the changes I have seen in EVERY SINGLE AREA. Change is SO possible if we can accomplish that ourselves and the people we work with LISTEN and FOLLOW the Lord.
Thank you for everything. LOVE YOU.
