TUESDAY: a day full of PURE rejection and rain. But we just kept walking and knocking and when all seemed just TERRIBLE, recieved a phone call from MEXICO TEMPLE VISITING CENTER of a reference in our area. So we booked it (reference from the heavens) to the house and this girl, Samai, fell from the sky. She has lived here since February and has already been to church for a year, general conference, EFY, but in Veracruz. Her friends said they would send the missionaries but never did. SO she prayed this same morning and felt the need to send the reference herself through mormon.org and within three hours, we were at her door. She began to cry and said ¨I want to be baptized. This is an answer from the Lord its time.¨ We were speechless and crying as well. The spirit was incredible. Opposition is SO worth that joy.
WEDNESDAY: Had evaluations with the zone and practiced the Donaldson Papers. Works like a charm. Taught the Aunt of our zone leader. (super strange) Had an INCREDIBLE lesson with Samai of the Restoration. She LOVES Joseph Smith and told us she already enlisted in institute to study the Restoration and she wants to serve a mission like us.... still speechless. Ended the day with joy receiving a phone call from a less active family weve been working with where the active son invited us to watch him open his mission call and the whole family watched and felt the spirit as everyone feels in that moment when you open in the mission call. Tuxtla Gutierrez November 8th! So excited for Jacob Gonzalez. Pray for him! Ran home a 20 minute walk in 3 minutes. Almost killed us from running out of breath but 9:00... EXACT OBEDIENCE.
THURSDAY: won the confidence of a family who the parents are ex mission presidents but have never had a good relationship with the missionaries here. Started talking about BYU and turns out the Flores family has been looking for a future roommate and housing. SO volunteered and yeahhhh they completely opened up and are willing to help us with rides and lessons! Finally had mission coorelation for the first time in our ward for 3 months and the ward is turning around!
FRIDAY: A DAY THAT CHANGED UNIVERSIDAD. Had our ward missionary activity of a talent show. Did it in the way of Americas got talent. I was Cat Deeley and the judges MIchael Jackson, Ha-ash, and Tom Cruise. At first the ward was SO stiff but after some brave souls passed in front to sing or play piano, something changed in the ward and the unity and energy SHOT up and EVERYONE participated, members, inactives, AND investigators. Mission calls were read, baptisms announced, and just truly the ward was BACK to fully charged. And everyone is noticing that energy so were going to take advantage of it fertilize it.
SATURDAY: Had a beautiful lesson with Samai again preparing for her baptism. Asked me to speak on baptism. I LOVE THIS GIRL SO MUCH. Had lunch with members and the news of the ward activity spread like wildfire and EVERYONE wants to work and give references now! AMAZING. Had general conference womens session... WOW amazing. IN tears the whole time. Loved Dieter F. Uchtdorfs talk on faith. His story on how he met his wife was absolutely jaw-dropping but inspiring. SO GO OUT THERE AND BE DILIGENT IN FAITH. even until the last door.
SUNDAY: A crazy day of miracles and progress and LOT of rain. Three investigators came to church and 14 inactives. ALL inactives who we have visited in this last week and those who went to the ward activity and those who didnt who heard about it. Ward council planned family nights as a ward to increase the energy and unity in the ward and another ward activity. THANKFULLY the high counselor was present and now the stake is witnessing the change and energy we have. PROGRESS. Visited the Barragan family who was also inactive but now after the spirit they felt from our lesson, they left to PREACH to four families they believe could listen and accept the missionaries. Ended the night with the first family night of the ward teaching the ward how to become ¨DIRT¨. Read Alma 32 together. Taught them how to do EDPER and all kneeled down as a ward praying for the one person each of them though of to visit and plant into the ward. An unforgettable night full of laughs, tears, and the spirit. The ward is on board now. LOVE Universidad.
LOVE you all. Love the emails. Crazy I do not remember so much about the world and these two hours to hear about makes me so afraid of the world and to go back. But like Uchtdorf said. Have faith. Keep going. Even to the fourth floor to the last door.
