WEEK 56: STAYIN ALIVE STAYIN ALIVE

yes Ive completed 13 months in the mission... and im staying alive. NOT DYING OR GIVING UP WORKING IN THIS MARVELOUS WORK. Running till I drop at the end.

And yes, I heard this song in the street about 7 times this week. The Lord has humor.

PONDERIZING SCRIPTURES: 2 Nephi 28:30, Jeremiah 5:25, D&C 27:15-18, 28:8,13,15-16, 29: 3-6,46-47, 30:11, 31, 33:8-13,15-18, 34:2-5,11-12, 61:3, 35:2,8-10, 12-15,17,19, 21,24,26-27, 36:5-8, 37:4,38:7-8,15,19,23-25,27, 3 Nephi 27:1-2, Mosiah 18:21, 1 Corinthians 3:16, D&C 88:67, D&C 84:106, Mosiah 4:30

TUESDAY: FUNNEST service project ever done. Went to our blind investigator Angeles and made her lunch BUT BLIND. it was terrifying and hilarious and learned and humbled myself a lot through the experience. It touched angeles and her mother a ton. Worked a ton with our leaders of the ward and are working on animating them in the work. And let me tell you, sparks are being made and this is going to be an INCREDIBLE ward in no time.

WEDNESDAY: so a secret I learned from dear Hermana Lopez is that to have success here in Valsequillo, the first step is get in the door. So something weve been doing (could say cheating) is asking if we can use the bathroom and then immediately my companion or I strike up the conversation and then BOOM weve got an appointment. Gotta be creative. Ate at Burger King for the first time in a year.... so strange. Had noche mexicana with Angeles and all the Relief Society and taught Angeles how to play air hockey... and for someone blind SHES A CHAMPION.

THURSDAY: Zone training with basically elders. There are practically no sisters here in our area but it was super fun and fulfilling. Had a fast together and came together to feel that to gain more success, we need to be humble and repent for the little or big errors weve made and be born of God and become NEW in the mission. Renewed energy and enthusiasm. (God inside of us) Then being September 15th, night before Independence Day here in Mexico, made a huge pizza with our investigators in the form of the Mexican flag and won their confidence that they asked for a blessing for their sick father. AWESOME.

FRIDAY: VIVA MEXICO... yes everyone shouts that at midnight all over mexico. Had interviews with President. I love that man. Man of God. Cried a good amount just full of the spirit. Recieved a lot of trust with the ward im in and locking and loading up to work harder than ever do keep this ward alive and running in the work. Remembered the classic referral game played back in the day with Hermana Lopez and IT WORKS WONDERFULLY here. The members understand when we are asking for their neighbors, friends, and family so that we can help them find the truth and now they are offering to go with us. The ward is changing! And hoping it stays that way so that in the future, THEY themselves can animate the investigators we have to stay firm in the faith of the kingdom of God.

SATURDAY: What we thought would be a super busy day turned into a day of opposition and rejection. ALL of our appointments fell. Every single one. But it really allowed my companion and I to talk and really gain each others confidence and animate one another and figure out how we can make a solid foundation of a ward in the work here in Universidad.

SUNDAY: The stake prediency came to speak to the ward on ENTHUSIASM. TheLord seems to be having a common message with this area and zone. The members and missionaries need ENERGY and FIRE in their callings, in their homes, and in their every day lives. Something that President RIvera said really stuck with me

¨The Holy Ghost is optimistic and of good cheer. Anything negative or pessimist is directly from Satan¨

My companion and the ward council got a good laugh out of that comment afterwards saying I am this crazy bundle of energy and enthusiasm that they just cant handle. SO Im working on controlling and distributing my energy so that it can intoxicate everyone in this ward and MAKE MIRACLES in the future.

LOVE this mission. It is going by TOO fast. So jealous of the rookies here. If you back home are preparing for the mission, ENJOY EVERY SECOND. Do not complain. It is all SO worth it.
