Well its been quite a week.... and I forgot my scriptures again. IN A WEEK THAT SINCERELY WAS AMAZING FROM SCRIPTURES.
TUESDAY: Started the day with a training session with all the hermanas. Super spritual, super direct on obedience, and AMAZING to improve our technique in teaching. LOVED it. On our way out, found poor Asencion drunk in the street and began to tell us of the feelings of his heart and how he fell in love with my companion the first time he met us. Sad man. He was so close.... but nope. Hermana Bates got a little fierce with him to back up. Awesome memory. Praying that one day hell come back to the good side. Had an amazing family night with the bishop and his family. Full of the spirit and winning the confidence of the family. Full of laughs and the spirit.
WEDNESDAY: Okay, taught the district meeting again. But just like my dad, with a twist. Took the idea from Elder Mendez way back in Atlixco and used it for the lesson on how we can recieve revelation for our investigators and for ourselves. I compared every missionary in our district to a Disney character but what I added was I prayed for a scripture that every missionary would need for themselves. And WOW, the spirit in the lesson was unbelievable. EVERYONE was crying. And on top of everything, the assistants came to listen and I was so glad the spirit was there. President showed up as well. Lets just say no one will forget the way the felt in that district meeting. District leaders or zone leaders that are looking for a good lesson plan, PLEASE use the following. Ended the night with a pure miracle. Only had a family night with a less active family and an investigator right before we began to pray, (literally) knocked on the door, sat down, listened to the whole lesson, and accepted to be baptized in two weeks. He recently dropped the missionaries before because he was afraid but now he wants to follow with full diligence the example of Christ. AMAZINGGGGG
THURSDAY: Had a wonderful lunch with an inactive while we watched videos of Christ and she began to cry and said she wants to be better and more like Christ. Such a sweet woman with a good heart. Taught english to a whole family that wanted to go to church and hear me sing in front of everyone ... well see if that happens.
FRIDAY: Went and did service at the house of the Elders Quorum president and got compared to Lindsey Sterling THE ENTIRE TIME. Found my long lost celebrity twin. Ate with Hermana Rosaldina who broke down in tears humbled by the sickness she had and asked for forgiveness from us on behalf of the whole waard. Shes changing (: Went to see Minerva who is doing well, working to support her family and is still praying and fighting for a miracle baptism. SO KEEP CHEERING HER ON: Rene... well... we went to visit him. Something seemed off. And later in the week we recieved a very sad message from him that confirmed our worries.... lets just say the members have offended him by not visiting him... and he doesnt want to have anything to do with them. SO what we learned from this is MEMBERS PLEASSEEEE VISIT THE CONVERTS IN YOUR WARD. Ended the day visiting the Cinto Cruz family... andddd Monica our 15 year old investigator is pregnant... man. But she wants to marry her boyfriend so hopefully all turns out well in the end. But the testimonies of that family.... dang. Something to admire, let me tell you.
SATURDAY: MY FIRST TIME USING A MACHETE IN SERVICE. We cleaned the backyard (more of a huge field) of the Garciacano family and required splinters, spider bites, and machetes to clear everything. Super fun. But then the trials came in the day. Visited the Ramirez Reyes family who litterally told us that they are tricking us and really have no intention to be baptized. Slap across the face. Got dumped by two investigators. 2 slaps in the face. And lost 5 baptismal dates in 1 hour. A trillion slaps to the face. Waiting in the church for an investigator to show up when our hands were hanging low and a little on the down side. Saw two kids playing outside and felt the need to talk to them. Turns out their father is a member and theyve been to church almost every month in Puebla and sometimes in Huejo... but NEVER WERE BAPTIZED: miracle. 9 and 13. The Lord always gives blessings after the trials.
SUNDAY: Church was... well... a little sad because none of our investigators showed up in the beginning and we felt a little hurt by the ward for not supporting our converts but LOW AND BEHOLD THE CINTO CRUZ FAMILY WALKED IN. I was so happy almost hugged Juan Luis. Bad. But they said they loved church! Had ward council where directly explained the situation of our investigators and our converts and how sincerely just like in the General Conference talk ¨To the Rescue¨ we cant be a ward of just talking and planning but never actually acting. We assigned EVERY member of the ward council to work with a specific investigator or convert. Asked bishop for 2 new ward missionaries and set 2 days to do divisions with them and set an hour for the ward council members to come with us to lessons. Used the white board and everything. Bishop got out of his chair and motioned me to sit. HAH apostasy. THEN the amazing CInto Cruz family invited us to dinner. With all 30 members of their catholic family. To a party FOR their Maria Guadalupe worshiping table thing. I walked in with big eyes like a little girl on Christmas. PEOPLE TO TEACH. No I did not stand on the table and open my Book of Mormon and preach repentance. BUT got up introduced me and my companion and began to ask if they now how to follow Christ. And the conversation was actually amazing. Of the 30 people, 9 accepted to return for a family night with the Cinto Cruz family. SO in total for the week, we found 14 investigators and the goal for the whole mission was 10! MIRACLES. EVERY GOAL PUT BY THE MISSION OR MISSION PRESIDENT IS INSPIRED WITH FAITH TRUST ANIMO AND LOVE.
LOVE the mission.
If youre not on one, find one. AND DO IT.
HEYYY well if you want to send me a letter...or a package... and get it here before I come home... well you should try to send it now. (:
