above: as in IM SO SORRY from Imagine Dragons. Yes I am finishing a year in the mission this week, but man. Im so tired from running all over the place trying to do as much as I can before my times up.
PONDERIZING SCRIPTURES: ... forgot them again sorry.
TUESDAY: Had rehearsal with the elders and hermanas for our musical number. The 6 of us truly are crazy together and hard to concentrate, but in the end had a wonderful hymn of Ill go where you want me to go. Had an awesome lesson with the Ramirez family on the Sabbath Day and all are set to go to church on Sunday... got ditched again by Antonio and Dulce... Were the ONLY ones who served with the Elders Quorum president and another member for the mens service activity for the church. EQ president said we won our preisthood cards (: And yes, eveeryone, I used a lawn mower. Sister missionary pushing a lawn mower. A site that only the EQ president has on camera.
WEDNESDAY: Had zone conference with President Stellmon, the Assistents, and Cholula! A great time full of how we can apply the Book of Mormon better in our teachings and also using inspired questions in our teachings. LOVED every moment of it. And have plans to apply it immediately.
THURSDAY: Started fresh using the teachings of President by walking all over with a Book of Mormon in my hand and BOOM it worked marvelously. A woman my companion stopped in the street to help carry her bags immediately saw it and asked. We struck up a conversation immediately. Also applied the planch president gave us Americans specifically on slang. ( using the words freak, fetch, shoot, shiz you name it) And now, us four americans in our zone have made it a goal that every time we say that word, our companion hits us... with love. besttwoyearsstatus. IMMEDIATE change. HAD THE BEST LESSON WITH ALVARO. Okay, so this man has told us there is work, above that is church, and above that is basketball. SO? We mixed church and basketball teaching through the rules of basketball how every play is like a commandment. Coach wants us to do, and you just do it. There isnt a question, and later we find out WOW we actually get points doing what coach says. Because HE knows. He has experience. And Alvaro just clicked. We taught that for him, his half court play, would be accepting marriage. At first he rejected it, but applying it in the way that we taught, the man said ¨You know, its about time I leave behind my pride and just accept it. When am I getting married with Minerva?¨ Pablo, his son, just sat jaw opened. We literally witnessed a miracle. Theyre getting married this Saturday. AGHHHHH Mission correlation, our mission leader almost danced so happy that these two are for sure now going to be baptized!
FRIDAY: INTERCAMBIOSSS with the lovely Hermana Rodriguez. I love this woman. We were companions for three hours during transfers and FINALLY were back together. Dream team. After being in the area of the sister training leaders, I could remember who were their investigators and everything and actually passed references from my past area in Yetlaneci who moved in their area and we visited them and placed 2 BAPTISMAL DATES with them. WOW The Lord works in mysterious ways. James, the son of a family that Hermana Cooper and I found my second time in the area I found out is getting baptized on Sunday. The family just hugged me thanking me for finding them. AND THREE MONTHS LATER THEYRE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT: Amazing. The sad part is while all of these amazing miracles were happening in their area. My area with Hermana Espinal was falling apart. My comp told me how we recieved a horrible text message from Antonio and Dulce saying they dont want anything to do with us anymore and that they have been ignoring us for a reason.... so our gold family has disappeared. Still trying to figure out the details why... but just going to continue praying.
SATURDAY: Came back home to my area and we hit the ground running trying to pick up the pieces of what had fallen apart. Had a wonderful lesson with the Ramirez family again. The little girl Dulce ran up and gave the sweetest hug and said Te Quiero. (I love you) she is precious. And we read the sacrament prayers to them so they could understand what is going to happen in church. After reading them, I asked how the little girls felt and Dulce said in the most tender voice ever, ¨It seems like as you were saying the words, the Lord was speaking to me with His spirit.¨ Everyone just stayed silent. I was shocked. My companion testified that is was the Lord speaking to them and calling them to come and participate in this sacred ordinance. One of the most spiritual lessons I have had and all are SO ready to come to church tomorrow. Then FINALLY went to meet the parents of the convert who has kept it a secret she is a member. AND IT WAS LIKE SPEAKING TO A DIFFERENT PERSON. The mother invited us to come whenever we would like and even invited us to dinner. WHATTTTT and gave us free chocolate pie. Saw Pablo and Minerva to talk about the wedding details and everyone is in shock of the miracle that happened. Minerva and Pablo both had incredible testimonies of prayer and fasting now.
SUNDAY: Showed up in church all in white because little Dulce and Belen wanted us to match them in white when they came to church. Was a beautiful sacrament meeting and Elder Dietz spoke (Which was super powerful and amazing on conversion) but some of the members and investigators were confused because his companion died his hair brown. So now there are two white Americans with blue eyes and brown hair. Ha. Had ward council and all are on board and understand that it is SO important to save the 15 fechas that we have right now so that no more fall. So we left running to see Rosio who we havent been able to find and got her to accept to come with us to James´ baptism. WHICH was beautiful... and the tradition continues as all us missionaries were asked to sing again... still have yet to be in a baptism where I do not sing.. hah. But the experience was beautiful and Rosio was able to remember that spirit she wants and agreed to come back to church. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. OPERATION MAINTAINFECHAS is in motion.
So Im running. Yes I complete a year this week. But just like the last few legs of a race or the last few minutes of a game... you BOOK it working with all that you have. Many missionaries say you start to ¨die¨ at this point and get lazy or as they say ¨frito¨ but I am not accepting that. This has been the best experience of my life and Im not going to appear in front of the Lord and say ¨Well I mean it was the end of my mission, who cares¨ THE LORD CARES. So go RUN and do it.
LOVE YOU ALL.
