TUESDAY: well it was a rough way to start the week, BUT thanks to some AWESOME zone leaders and sister training leaders, hit the pavement fast and got to work. Had our FIRST english classes which was a total success. Members and investigators all coming! WAHOO HAPPY 21st ANNIVERSARY MOM AND DAD
WEDNESDAY: Had practice teaching sessions with the zone leaders and had an INCREDIBLE lesson with a family we found who in the beginning of the lesson REFUSED to even listen but with some little planching with love, they accepted to return AND listen. Watched The Restoration with Minerva and Alvaro who were attentively listening. Theyre being changed by the gospel and it is SO awesome. three weeks back, they wanted nothing. LOVE the mission
THURSDAY: Ate with the elders with Hermana Vicky who gave us fish with a ton of vegetables on top. And it was disgusting for us americans sooo we dunked it in ketchup. It was rough, but we got through it. Worked with our new little ward missionary Itzel who came and gave an INCREDIBLE testimony in our lesson with Rene who revealed to us the day I saw him looking out the window and went to contact him, he was about to jump and kill himself. The room was silent as he powerfully testified that he knows we are his angels who have saved him to live a better life. I cried like a little baby. I love that man and I know that God loves that man. Had mission coorelation where the Elders were a little bummed about the success were having and asked how were working:
1.dont compare yourselves to other missionaries
2. Proverbs 3:5,
3. HAVE A GOOD ATTITUDE
4. Dont mutter about the bad things
5. LOVE EVERYONE AND SHOW IT
6. Smile a LOT
7. Talk to everyone
8. Win the confidence of the members and the leaders
9. Pray for the spirit and follow WHATEVER it tells you to do.
10. Dont give up no matter what anyone says to you. PEOPLE CHANGE
We then planned to contact together in the city park to show how we work. Got a little competition going. If we contacted more than they did, I won a snapback from the Zone Leaders. If they contacted more, I had to give up my Nike backpack. Lets just say, this got them PUMPED to work.
FRIDAY: Contacted the most people in the street I have EVER done in my life. Zone Leaders: 14 Us: 30 ... mostly because I walked up to a gang of teenagers fighting and smoking and literally started preaching to them and all of them want to come to ENglish classes. YES. But because we both worked really hard, we agreed to BOTH win. Ended the day giving a blessing to two new investigators who trust that the priesthood the Elders have can give them protection from the fear they feel from theyre family. VERY cool and amazing what contacting in the street can do. Also had an AMAZZING lesson with Ana and Javier who both need to get divorced to be married and be baptized.BUT they both committed to give it their all to get everything done and be baptized the 20th of August. AWESOME
SATURDAY: Had a great lesson with a contact we found in the street yesterday who NEVER has heard of the Mormons or our church and agreed to come to church and learn from us. Also contacted a teenager in the street because he had a Spiderman jersey and I liked it. THE CRAZY PART? Hes friends with our investigator Pablo who is getting baptized the 23rd and they already have talked about us. INSANEEE. The Lord sincerely puts the people in our path that we need to meet. Had THE MOST POWERFUL lesson thus far in the mission with a daughter of a family that has already been baptized but she has rejected all of the missionaries until she met us. She said she could finally feel the spirit and that she wants to be baptized now. ON THE 23rd OF JULY. miraclesssss Had an incredible lesson with Minerva and Alvaro who told us that its crazy, but everything we say, teach, and testify, they believe, and want to continue to change. They trust us and sincerely feel that we are representatives of Jesus Christ. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE AND WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM? Just another example for me to fully know that the Lord and the gospel and his grace can CHANGE lives.
SUNDAY: Gave my testimony in church and testified of the truth of the gospel and the Atonement and of the plan of salvation. How even though this week was hard for me, I KNOW that every thing will be alright and that the Lord is with everysingle person when they are suffering. All us missionaries gave amazing testimonies as well on trials as the elders were right there along side me when it was hard. But with work and faith and A LOT of praying, miracles happen. And for that, as Elder Dietz said ¨ipray every morning for trials, because they help us grow, they make us stronger, and change us more into the person our Lord wants us to become.¨ So trials, keep em coming. Im ready (:
I LOVE YOU ALL. Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes. The missionaries threw a birthday party activity for us 4 that have birthdays this month and I got my face STUFFED with cake in a cake fight thing. Super fun and stoked to be TWENTYYYY
